Hi! My name is Meryl. I’m a daddy’s girl.
There are things in my world that I just don’t have to think about because of my daddy. Car stuff. Lawn care. Random things breaking (like the time my son came downstairs carrying a toilet seat when I was on a Zoom call). Dealing with service providers who sometimes try to get over on a single mom. Going to Home Depot for just about anything. Translating guy-speak. Dude stuff with my boy. It makes my head spin reflecting on all that I don’t have to think about because of this awesome man. Even though we’ve been keeping our distance from my folks during this pandemic, he still manages to come through for us albeit remotely. Let’s hear it for the dad!
Father’s Day is June 21 and it’s a great time to show our dads a little extra love. Dads have gained a universal rep of being hard to shop for. Ha! What they really want is for us to leave them alone...but not alone enough to make them feel unappreciated. Le sigh. I’ve put together a few gift ideas to help you celebrate dad dudes. I hope you see something that would be just perfect for your guy.
Happy Father’s Day!

Meryl, it truly warms my heart to see you and your father together. What a wonderful father’s day blog! I lost my father 18 years ago but reading this put a smile on my face because you made me remember, in fondness, the things dads do for daughters that I use to really take for granted. Oil changes, tire checks, you know the drill (smiling). The new man in my life that he handed me over to, my amazing husband, James; took that baton and I am forever grateful. Dads are so special and wonderful and you are truly blessed to still have Mr. Vic in your life. He is a super, super amazing man and I love you both! I can’t wait to check out the gift list. 😉
