I love a good cake pop, and once I learned how to make a semi-homemade version, they quickly became one of my favorite treats to pull together. These Valentine’s Day cake pops are adorable, festive, and genuinely delicious… without requiring bakery-level effort.

Perfect for gifting, parties, or just because.

What You’ll Need

  • 1 box Little Debbie Valentine Cakes

  • Red candy melts

  • Straws or lollipop/candy sticks

  • Sprinkles

  • Optional: cellophane bags and ribbon for gifting

How to Make Them

  1. Unwrap the individual cakes and place them in a large bowl.

  2. Using a mixer or spoon, break up the cakes and mix until combined.

  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of cake mixture into your hand.

  4. Roll between your palms to form a smooth ball.

  5. Place on a wax paper–lined sheet pan.

  6. Insert a straw or stick into each cake ball.

  7. Pinch the cake gently around the stick if needed to fill any gaps.

  8. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up.

  9. Melt candy melts according to package directions.

  10. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, coating evenly.

  11. Add sprinkles immediately before the coating sets.

  12. Once dry, package in cellophane bags and tie with ribbon if desired.

Why I Love These

They’re the perfect mix of easy + impressive — beautiful enough to gift, simple enough to make without stress, and always a crowd-pleaser. No one needs to know they started semi-homemade. (Watch them come together here.)
